Improving My WordPress Portfolio

•

This week I continued improving my WordPress portfolio by focusing on the overall design, organization, accessibility, and usability of the site. I updated the site with a new theme and customized the content so that it better represents my own work and skills rather than using the original template content.

I also improved my Portfolio page by adding examples of projects I have created, including FaithAI and Stark Civic Monitor. I added descriptive alt text to images to improve accessibility and made adjustments to the layout so the site works better across desktop and mobile screen sizes.

Another improvement was adding a search feature to make content easier to find. I also worked with the site’s navigation, header, footer, images, spacing, and responsive design while learning more about how WordPress themes, templates, blocks, and widgets work together.

Each week the site is becoming less of a class project and more of a working portfolio that I can continue developing beyond this course.
