Week 9: Working with WordPress Child Themes and PHP

This week I started learning how WordPress child themes work and how PHP can be used to customize a website. I created a child theme folder and worked with the files needed to make changes without modifying the original theme. Since I took PHP a couple of semesters ago, this was also a good opportunity to refresh what I learned. I’m starting to understand how WordPress uses PHP behind the scenes and why child themes are useful when making changes to a website.
